  • CA

    Cost Accounting — This unit is responsible for effort reporting, the indirect cost proposal and negotiation and assistance with audit issues.

  • College

    College / Division — Colleges house individual schools, departments, or lab, grouped by specific disciplines, which provide the overarching financial, supervisory and administrative oversight to its departments. The College of Engineering and GTRI are examples.

    Grants and Contracts Accounting — G&C maintains official GT financial oversight of sponsored project accounts on behalf of the Institute, invoices sponsors or draws down funds from sponsors, submits financial reports, assists faculty, staff and students in the financial aspects of sponsored awards, and is the primary point of contact for auditors

    Office of Industry Engagement — Georgia Tech’s mission is to encourage innovation, advance knowledge, and serve the public interest. To facilitate these goals, the Office of Industry Engagement was formed to ensure that Georgia Tech innovations have the opportunity to evolve into products and services that can benefit society. At Industry Engagement, we work together with campus innovators and industry partners to move new technologies and discoveries out of Georgia Tech and into the mainstream of the U.S. economy. As a public university, Georgia Tech has a responsibility to ensure its research results benefit the general public. Part of the Georgia Tech Research Corporation (GTRC), the Office of Industry Engagement is composed of three groups:

    • Innovation Commercialization and Translational Research (ICTR)
    • Industry Collaborations and Affiliated Licenses (ICAL)
    • International Contracts and Technology Transfer (ICTT)

    These offices promote partnerships with industry, government, and non-profits; help transform Georgia Tech’s breakthrough technologies into products; and spur economic development throughout Georgia and beyond. Together, these groups make Industry Engagement a one-stop shop for anyone interested in pursuing strategic collaborations through sponsored research, international research, licensing, and new venture agreements.

    Office of Research Integrity Assurance — This office provides administrative support and oversight for the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee, the Institutional Review Board(s), and the Institutional Biosafety Committee. This office also conducts export control reviews for sponsored projects and prepares Technology Control Plans when needed.

    Office of Sponsored Programs — On behalf of the Institute, and with the delegation of signature authority on behalf of GTRC/GTARC, OSP facilitates the submission of all sponsored projects proposals, negotiates and executes agreements, provides sponsored projects education and communication, and assists faculty, staff, and students in managing projects which are awarded to the Institute

    Principal Investigator — The individual designated by the Institute, and approved by the Sponsor, who will be responsible for the scientific/technical design, conduct and reporting of a sponsored project.

    Department of Procurement and Supply — The Department of Procurement and Supply provides the following services: establishes and administers procurement contracts effectively; procures facilities, goods and services for best value; Delegates procurement authority to promote efficiency; provides value-added physical distribution services; ensures Institute business is conducted in a fair and open environment, in full compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

    Schools / Department / Laboratory — The unit within a particular college or division (GTRI) at the Institute that provides administrative support for sponsored projects.
